This article is about the immigrants who formed our country, and their children in today's society. These young people are deciding to emigrate back to their ancestral countries. The parents of these children feel that because of how hard they worked to get to America that it's a bad idea for them to move back to those countries. However, many of these children are highly talented college graduates looking for jobs that suit their degrees rather than small jobs in America at local stores and food franchises. These people are being encouraged to bring their American talent and ideas abroad, and are finding it easier to get better jobs and start businesses in other countries. Our government also is not keeping track of the emigration of former immigrants' children.

Why do you think these people are finding it easier to make a better living in other countries? Do you think this emigration from talented young people in America will affect our country? Why or why not?

  1. I think that people are finding it easier to live in other countries because they can be more successful there, legally. They can do what they are good at and maybe even make a difference in that country. They could probably begin to help improve other countries economy and government by making a better living. I think that in a way this emigration with affect America because it will help open more low wage jobs up for Americans and it could improve our economy in a way also. Overall, it will be for the better if talented immigrants emigrate back to their country to make a better living.

  2. I do not know why it would be easier for a highly educated person to get a job in another country. But, this feeling is affected by the question: Do these children have degrees from the United States or from their own countries? If from their own country, then yes, it would be easier to find a job because they are trained in that country's expectations. But, the opposite is true if the degree was obtained in America. Regardless, I do think that this will affect the United States as a country. This is because skilled workers that the United States could benefit from economically are instead going to other countries. Also, this would affect our countries relationship with other countries both positively and negatively. Either the United States could be rigid towards the other countries, or they could relish in the fact that other countries might look highly upon them for supplying them with skilled workers. Therefore, I disagree with Hannah because I belive that it will deprive the country of economic growth through jobs.

  3. I disagree with Brooke because I feel that the emigration of these skilled can only better the economy of not only the US but the countries in whhich they are immigrating to. These skilled workers can improve the lives of the others in their countries and maybe pass on their skill to the others in their community. This could then lead to more oppertunity in developing countries. Once the economy of these countries grows, it will allow for more international trading and growth in the world economy. While the parents of these skilled workers may find it disrespectful, it can only better the world as a whole.

  4. People find jobs easier in there home countries because the other countries do not have an education systems as good as the one that we have running in the United States today. People can go back to their home countries and find jobs that require skills learned through many years of schooling because the citizens of that country probably never had to chance to get an education as well as one that could be achieved in America, so they do not have the skills and knowledge needed. I think that it will affect the United States economy in a great deal. The United States gives a great deal of money out to support people going through school and giving them a good education so that they can then be needed working members of our society. If these talented kids take their American education and run, I feel as though they are stealing from the United States. In the long run they are going to only help their own home countries, and not the United States.

  5. I agree with the what Brooke said about the importance of whether or not these immigrants got their degrees in the United States or their home country. It makes sense that they would have a hard time getting a highly skilled job in the United States if their degree is from another country because that country might not have as good education as the United States and maybe the degree is not transferable. I think that these people leaving the United States will help their countries of origin because often times these countries are lacking in skilled workers. At the same time it will open up jobs for Americans who are not immigrants. Overall, I think that it is a good thing that these skilled immigrants are emigrating from the United States.

  6. I think that it's easier for these immigrants to find work in there home countries because of the intense competition for jobs in America. Our economy is still not very good and there aren't a lot of jobs available to the people. In other countries where the education system is usually not as great as America's, it's easier for these highly skilled immigrants who were educated at American universities to get jobs in less competitive countries. I do think that this can affect our country in a good way and a bad way. It's bad because we are losing highly skilled immigrants who could potentially open businesses and create hundreds of new jobs. However, it may be good for the country because it will decrease the population thus freeing up more jobs. America has the third highest population among all the countries in the world and we have limited jobs. As many immigrants leave, it may become easier for Americans to get jobs.

  7. I think that people are having an easier time finding work in their home countries because of our aggressive economy here in the United States. People are always looking toward the next new thing and it seems that american's are generally more competitive, like what David said. Other countries also might have less competition because there are less people that are as well educated. I think that people bringing their skills back to their home country may not be great for us now, but will help in the future. Now, we will have fewer highly skilled laborers, but in the future it will bring countries that are less developed into the worldwide market.

  8. I believe that in a place with such large a population, difficulties in finding a job in nay kind of industry is difficult. Of course it will make it a lot easier if the person has a degree although it does not insure they will have a job. I have known people who came to the United States graduated high school as well as college and decided to move back to their country of origin because of the higher rates of opportunity. Those people know that they will be valued in their country and that there is a good position waiting for them. Some countries do not have as good as an education system as the ones in America, sometimes it's just hard to acquire a proper degree due to all the expenses. Therefore these people see these advantages in going back. This although, won't affect the U.S. economy as drastically as people think in my opinion. The first reason being because there already are few jobs and Americans are often caught blaming on the people who are coming into the country, another thing is that those people who are going back to their countries are not benefiting from the U.S. the same way the country is not benefiting from them.

  9. I think that the reason why immigrants want to go back to their native countries is because maybe they want to use their own education to start their own businesses in their own country to help their people and their economy. I think that this will affect the united states economy in a good way because the americans who are searching for jobs can take back the low wage jobs that are left in america if they desperately need them and try to provide for their own families. I also think that it can affect america in a negative way as well because those skilled immigrants who were able to get a good education and degree are leaving our country when they could affect america's economy in a positive way.

  10. I think it is more difficult for these intellectual immigrants to find a well suited job in America than it would be in other countries because what their families have are usually small franchises and currently there doesn't seem to be much oppertunities in America when it comes to immigrants. It is almost a reverse effect then it was a century ago where there was so much growth that needed to be done in America. Now it is as if other countries provide more oppertunites for these immigrants. I think for those who leave and have high intellect and can excel in certain areas, it will efeect our coutry negatively because it is taking away the progess that could help America excel as a country.

  11. I agree with Ryan because I think that the aggressive economy in the US prohibits a lot of people from finding jobs. People with degrees want jobs that are going to challenge them and that they are going to be able to use ALL of their knowledge (that they paid a lot of money to get). In other countries there is a lot of emigration to the US so these countries are loosing a lot of workers, many of them skilled and educated. They, in turn, are looking for highly skilled workers leaving jobs open for immigrants from America. This will definitely affect our country because we are loosing people who could help our country grow. These people are taking knowledge they learned in America and going to other countries to help which hurts American economy. Because jobs are so hard to find we are pushing away highly educated and talented people to places where jobs are easier to find. This will only worsen our economy because we are loosing people that could very much help us progress.

  12. Personally I do not understand how moving to a different country would be easier sense America provides a lot of opportunities. These immigrants probably emigrate back to their ancestral countries because they can live their legally and there's a lot less restrictions to living there. Also, those other countries probably provide jobs opportunities that match their major they graduated from college with. I personally do no think that these immigrants migrating back to their country will affect our country. I think its unforgettably that they came here to learn and they can't work here to help improve our economy. I think that the United States already has students in college that are also just as educated and talented as the immigrants that want to move back to their ancestral country.
